Alexandre Arregui
Alexandre is an attorney with international experience, and he specialises in Estate Planning, Fiduciary Law and Art Law. He previously worked in large international Financial Institutions and Trust Companies in Switzerland.
In his professional activity, he contemplates the strategic structuring of the patrimony of private clients for the purposes of governance and succession. He also assists on mediation processes in international disputes involving Fiduciary and Art Law, as well as advice to private foundations, law firms and fiduciary companies.
Alexandre is a member of the Brazilian Bar Association and the Portuguese Bar Association, Arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration for Art in The Hague, member of the Lawyer’s Committee for Cultural Heritage Preservation Association in the United States and the Art Law Foundation in Switzerland.
In addition to his professional activity, Alexandre is a Visiting Fellow at the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights in Geneva, and researches on the intersection of Heritage Law, International Art Market, and Human Rights Policies. He is co-author of the Responsible Art Market Guides, in the volumes of Argentina and India published by the Responsible Art Market Initiative – RAM in Switzerland. Alexandre is a speaker at professional and academic events, and has published consistently on the topics in which he has expertise.
Alexandre’s educational background: graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University in Law (J.D.), and later studied Constitutional Law (LL.M) at the same University, and International Law at the Graduate Institute of International Studies and Development in Switzerland. In addition to his legal education, Alexandre obtained a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Corporate Social Responsibility at the University of Geneva, and attended the Art Law Executive Program at Sotheby’s Institute. Before settling in Switzerland, Alexandre was a Professor of Philosophy of Law in Brazil at URCAMP and FARGS.
Alexandre speaks English, French, Spanish and Portuguese, and has a good command of Italian.
Afonso Cânovas
Afonso Afonso is a lawyer with a degree in Law from Unitoledo – Araçatuba. He is currently an intern at the Public Defender's Office and responsible for a project that provides assistance to women victims of violence. Additionally, he holds a certification as a Technician in Mediation and Arbitration (Unitoledo).
Afonso has experience in the financial market, including futures contracts, derivatives, stocks, and funds. He holds postgraduate degrees in Business Law and Tax Law (Unitoledo) and in Tax Planning (Legale).
He is also a professional in International Asset Planning and Protection, certified by the PPPI Method from the Swiss Association of International Legal Practice. Afonso has experience and expertise in the cryptocurrency market, addressing all its legal aspects. Furthermore, he is a member of the Swiss Association of International Law.
